Marrakech Riad Wedding

American couple Ashley and Jeff bonded over their love of travel and adventure and chose Marrakech as an exciting and romantic destination for their wedding.

Ashley and Jeff showed their unconventional and adventurous streak by 'meeting' for the first time with a bridal party photo shoot among the snakecharmers and traders on the Djeema El Fna square and gardens of the 12th Century Koutoubia Mosque.

Back at the wedding Riad guests gathered on the rooftop which had been transformed with a thousand white roses and white sheepskin Moroccan rugs for the wedding ceremony. The couple exchanged their vows at dusk on the rooftop of the Riad with the sun setting on the Atlas mountains behind them.

Guests celebrated with mojitos and canapés and were treated to performances from traditional Gnawa musicians and a Master Snakecharmer before descending to the riad courtyard for a candlelit 1001 nights Moroccan wedding dinner under the stars.

Guests were entertained by an oriental cabaret of acrobats and belly dancers. The bride and groom cut their cake in an orange tree lined courtyard, followed by the first dance. Guests danced the night away pausing only for henna tattoos and to smoke 'hubbly bubbly' chicha pipes.
