During this private 3 day experience, you will explore Moroccan daily life and the secrets of this great aromatic cuisine with our English speaking Moroccan cooks and guides. 3 day Marrakech ‘foodie’ weekend itinerary: Accommodation in a beautiful traditional riad in the fashionable Rue Laksour of the medina, 5 minutes walk from the Djeema El Fna, main square Day 1 - Afternoon, welcome to Marrakech guided tour of the old city/medina with visit to spice market and traditional food market ‘mellah’, finishing with a sunset visit to the open-air food market with all its delicacies and vibrancy – from sheeps brains to tripe or a traditional mint tea for the faint hearted! (3pm to 8pm- dependent on the season) Day 2 – Moroccan Cookery course 0930 start with visit to the markets to find fresh vegetables, herbs and spices and meat for today’s lunch. Preparation of mezze of Moroccan salads and traditional tajine Followed by lunch on the roof of the riad - enjoying what you have cooked. (0930 to 3pm) Day 3 – Ourika valley/mountain day trip, with visit to Berber mountain market (Tnin Ourika – Monday’s) Followed by a bread making course, herbal footbath and lunch at a mountain herb and essential oils farm.
